Who are our students?
Each year, more than 1,500 international residents choose to learn Danish at one of Sprogcenter Vejle’s three language centres.
At Sprogcenter Vejle, we currently have around 880 students representing more than 80 nationalities in the Official Danish Education Programme.
The largest nationality groups among our students are from Ukraine, Sri Lanka, Poland, Iran, and Vietnam. Romania held third place for more than three years, but has now moved down to seventh place. Ukrainians make up 31% of our students, while the second-largest group, Sri Lankans, represent 7.6%.
Only 15% of our students receive public benefits. The remaining 85% are self-supporting.
Most students attend Danish Education Programme 2, which includes more than half of our students. Danish Education 1 has the fewest students, representing just 8% of the total group.
Approximately 40% of teaching takes place in regular daytime classes, and around 40% in evening classes. Our Healthcare Programme and workplace-based teaching each represent approximately 5% of our learners.
In addition, a small percentage attend Saturday classes, online classes, or participate in special programmes.
Besides the Official Danish Education Programme, we also have just over 150 students enrolled in FVU courses.
The numbers are from February 2026.
